Night Tours at the Hidden Valley Trails in Monteverde
For those who wish to observe wonders hidden in the forest after dark, we offer guided night hikes. The tour begins just before nightfall, allowing us to see a wide variety of nocturnal creatures. The walk starts at 5:30 P.M. and ends at 7:30 P.M. The photos on this page were taken while on the Hidden Valley Night Tour.
In 1979 David Savage acquired these 11 hectares. At that time much of the land was dedicated to farming. He decided to protect it, converting it into what is today Hidden Valley Trail. This ecotourism project allows the visitor to enjoy day and night hikes, while taking in the diversity of flora and fauna found here.
Our Mission: is to understand and protect this marvelous ecosystem. We are committed to seeing protected areas like Hidden Valley Trail carry on forever. Guarunteeing a better quality of life for future generations. In this way, we continue the dream of Hidden Valley Trail's founder David Savage.
The cost of the guided tour is US$20 per person including, guide, entrance fees and round trip transportation from most Monteverde area hotels. For students with valid student identification the cost is $15, and for children 10 years old or younger the cost is $12.
